Title: Young Men
Pairing: Jack/Ianto (implied Ianto/Eleven)
Rating: PG-13
Warning: None other than Jealous!Jack, my feeble attempt at humour and this being really short
Spoilers: Everything aired is fair game
Summary: Jack learns who stopped the young Ianto Jones drifting
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em – unfortunately.

A/N: The 11th Doctor it not really portrayed in this fic... mentioned, yes, but I won’t actually write him until I get a feeling for what he’s really like (I fear OOCness!). After all there’s still plenty of fun to be had with Ten :)

Jack let loose a long, slow whistle as the young face disappeared from the monitor. “Is it me or are doctors getting younger these days?”

Gwen grinned. “Not that you’d mind.”

“Who wouldn’t?” he replied with a grin, but shot Ianto a quick reassuring smile. “But I’ve my own young man, right here.”

However, he quickly realised that Ianto didn’t need his reassurance and was wearing a faraway expression which he usually reserved for remembering some of their more risqué exploits. “Ianto?”

Ianto started and cleared his throat. “Yes?”

“Anything you’d like to share?” asked Gwen with a smirk to rival Jack on his smug days. “He’s quite a looker, ain’t he? Don’t worry; I’ll help you keep Harkness in line.”

“Nothing to worry about on that front,” replied Ianto far too quickly for his brain to be fully engaged in the conversation. “That version of the Doctor prefers younger men.” He flushed almost immediately as the words left his mouth. “Er... or so I’d imagine.”

“You’ve met him?” demanded Jack, pointing at the screen.

“You could say that,” replied Ianto carefully. “I lent him a friendly ear when I was working in pub after I dropped out of uni.”

“Is that all you lent him?”

Ianto frowned, his grip tightening on the folder he was holding, annoyed with Jack’s interrogation. “Well, he couldn’t exactly give it me back,” he said with a significant look.

“He? You?” spluttered Jack.

“You knew you weren’t my first male lover,” said Ianto with as much dignity as he could muster, which wasn’t a lot considering Gwen was biting her lip to stop herself from laughing. “We spent a few – interesting – days together, where he made me realise that there was more to life than pulling pints for a living. I applied for Torchwood One not long after.”

“But the Doctor...” said Jack disbelievingly. For a moment Ianto wasn’t sure just who Jack’s jealously was directed at.

“I didn’t know that at the time. He said his name was John. For God’s sake, Jack, when he asked me if I wanted to go travelling with him I thought he meant backpacking through Thailand!”

“And if he was to ask you again?”

Ianto smiled, thinking he really shouldn’t find Jack’s discomfort so entertaining. “He won’t. Besides, I’d miss Wales, and maybe some of its inhabitants, too much.”

“Good,” replied Jack stiffly. “Gwen would miss you terribly.”

The monitor flickered back into life and the Doctor’s face reappeared. “By the way, Ianto, that offer of a ride is still open.”

Jack growled, Gwen laughed and Ianto made the strategic decision to retreat back to the archives to continue with his filing.

A/N: I am weak. I said I will not write Ianto/Eleven – oops! Just a bit of fun... hope you liked :)
